JCB to supply engines to Terex
JCB has won one of the biggest engine supply deals in its history in an annual contract worth around £4.5 million.
The deal is to supply Terex with engines to power the site dumpers it makes at its UK plant in Coventry plant. The engines will be the latest fuel efficient Ecomax 55kW/74HP stage3B/Tier 4 Final models and will initially be used to power two Terex dumper models, the TA6 and TA6S.
JCB chief executive Graeme Macdonald said: “The engine supply contract is a major milestone for the JCB Power Systems business. It is one of the biggest engine supply deals in the company’s history and is testament to reliability and efficiency advantages that the JCB Ecomax engine offers customers.”
This year marks 10 years since JCB began producing engines, the company now builds them both in the UK and since 2011 in India. To date the company has produced 350,000 engine, and they now power more than 70 percent of JCB products.
