Record year for Wacker Neuson

Austrian telehandler and light equipment manufacturer Wacker Neuson has posted another record year for 2014.

Total revenues for the year were €1.28 billion, almost 11 percent higher than in 2013. Pre-tax profits for the period increased almost 48 percent to €13-.1 million.

Central Europe saw the strongest growth, but North America and Asia also did well, while South America was weaker than expected. The growth was once again led by heavier equipment, such as telehandlers, rather than the lighter products.

Chief executive Cem Peksaglam said: “The fact that our business in Europe grew by 12 percent despite regional weaknesses shows that our strategy is delivering. In North America, a vigorous economy and the expansion of our dealer network helped drive growth in the region.”
“We want to grow fastest outside of Europe and have identified enormous potential here. Our long-term goal is to increase the revenue we generate outside of Europe from the current level of 29 percent to around 40 percent. Of course, this does not mean that we will be neglecting the European market. We still see many opportunities for expanding our business here too,”

“The outlook for Central Europe and North America is promising. As long as 2015 does not bring any further economic, financial or currency-related crises, we expect to grow between nine and 13 percent in revenue to amount between €1.4 and €1.45 billion. If market expectations regarding the pause in growth in the agricultural business materialise in 2015, we will compensate for this in other segments.”

Vertikal Comment

The Austrian company continues to grow at a solid rate, and has much more potential up its sleeve as it expands its ‘Compact Equipment’ line and builds truly international brand awareness and distribution.
