Steady rise for Ruthmann
German truck mounted lift manufacturer Ruthmann has reported another record year, achieving revenues of €109 million, almost five percent up on 2013. The company is privately held and does not report profit and loss or balance sheet details.
The company says that shipments of its Steiger truck mounted lifts were stable in unit terms, at around 500 machines, while service revenues have continued to post solid gains, and now contribute €13.5 million to the overall revenues.
The company says that it expects to achieve further increases in all areas of the business in 2015, and will launch the production version of its new T-480 at Intermat, which will incorporate a number of improvements to the specification that it released when it announced the machine in September last year.

Chief executive Rolf Kulawik said: "We are proud of the continuous positive development in the business. Many orders came from our core markets of Germany, Austria and Switzerland, however, our export figures are at their highest levels ever. Another positive factor were sales of product to the municipal market, boosted by new types T 190 and T 230 as well as the various Versalift products”.
Vertikal Comment
Sadly we do not have the full detail of the Ruthmann results, however what is clear is that the company is doing well, having launched a stream of new products over the past few years, while building up its international distribution network.
While the company still lags slightly behind Bronto (€130 million in 2014) in terms of overall revenues, the majority of its truck mounted lifts are sold to the commercial sector, while a substantial portion of Bronto’s shipments are special fire fighting and rescue platforms.
All in all this looks like 2014 was a very positive year for the company
