Riwal acquires ALS Safety
Dutch-based international aerial lift and telehandler rental company Riwal has acquired the UK-based provider of working at height training ALS Safety.
Operating from five training centres across the UK, ALS Safety provides IPAF and PASMA training as well as Health & Safety and First Aid training. The business was founded in 2009 by Darren and Jessica Verschuren who were the sole shareholders.
ALS Safety will continue to operate under its current name and branding, while the staff will be employed by Riwal. The Riwal UK management team will also be involved in the day to day running of the company.

Riwal chief executive Norty Turner said: “At Riwal our business is founded upon safety. It is an absolute critical element in everything we do. ALS Safety is a good strategic fit to our business and will support our growth ambitions in the UK as it will enable us to provide a broader range of training to our customers and in more training facilities. In addition we will bring our rental solutions to ALS Safety’s customer base.”
Darren Verschuren, ALS Safety managing director added: “We have gained a solid reputation in the industry and as part of the Riwal group we will be able to further grow our service offering to a new customer base and into new geographical areas.”
