Container crane hit by ship
Mobiles largest container handling crane tipped over late last week and cruhed a mean to death after it was struck by a departing ship at the Alabama state docks.
It seems that the ship, the ZIM Mexico III, a large container vessel, bound for Houston, was manouvering under its own power, as it was departing the Mobile River on Thursday, rather than being towed by tugs.
It then struck part of the crane, causing it to tip over backwards, crushing the 46 year old electrician.
