Crane collapse on bridge job
The boom of a ringer crane collapsed on February 19th while removing temporary supports from a bridge on the Ohio River between Louisville Kentucky and Jeffersonville Indiana.
The crane was working on the East End bridge of the Ohio River Bridges Project and positioned on a barge, no one was injured in the incident, but one person who was on the barge jumped into the river to avoid falling debris.

A view of the scene after the boom came down
A spokesman for the project contractor WVB East End Partners said: “The collapse may have been wind related, but it is too soon to say what caused the collapse”.
