Jost to assemble cranes in Holland

Bavarian based tower crane manufacturer, Jost Cranes GmbH, has agreed a deal with Dutch sales and rental company Kranenbouw to produce the Jost series JT 112.8 tower crane under an OEM licence.

The JT112.8 is the smallest model in the Jost flat top range with a maximum lift capacity of six tonnes and a capacity at the maximum 55 metres radius of 1,300kgs. Kranenbouw will market the JT112.8 under its own name throughout the Benelux region.

Franc Jost said that given the current demand for its cranes delivery times were becoming too long leading to lost business. He also said that licences would be given to other interested companies that were interested in producing Jost cranes to sell under their own brand name.

Kranenbouw will also assemble the larger flat top Jost JT 312.12 and JT 352.12 models with all components coming directly from Jost. The first unit was due to ship last week. The 352.12 has a maximum capacity of 12 tonnes and lifts 2,700kgs at 75 metres radius.

Edwin van Zitteren managing director of Kranenbouw, said, “We have thought about developing our own tower cranes and have explored the possibility to work as an OEM with some other crane manufacturers in the Far East and Spain, with Jost Cranes have we found a partner where the strengths of both companies complement each other.”
