New Demag AC300-6

Terex has launched a new version of its six axle 300 tonne single engine All Terrain crane, the Demag AC 300-6 with an 80 metre main boom and luffing jib option.

The new crane adopts off all of the features, and many of the same components at the all new Demag five axle All Terrain cranes, including the 21 metre bi-fold swingaway extension, with up to 40 degrees of offset. The crane can handle up to 15 tonnes on its fully extended main boom, and now offers a maximum system length of 118 metres, with the luffing jib system already used on the AC 350-6 and AC 1000-9 cranes.

Also available is the latest IC-1 Plus control system with real time calculation of lift capacities and customised to suit the actual outrigger set up employed with enhanced capacities when lifting over to tope of an outrigger jack for example. The overall crane carrier length of 15.3 metres, which combined with all wheel steering helps set up on congested sites.

The crane can meet 12 tonne axle loads with 800kg in hand for rigging equipment etc, while in in cab axle load monitor with dashboard display, helps operators keep an eye on actual axle loads.

This another update to the Terex crane range as the company moves all of its All Terrains over the Demag brand, with the updates to its latest technology. This model launch was referred to in the interview we ran with Steve Filipov in the November issue of Cranes & Access. See Big Changes Planned for Terex Cranes . It is a credit to the new thinking at the company, in that it was not tempted to unveil it sooner – such as at Conexpo or even Vertikal Days- sticking to Filipov’ s plan not to show any new crane until it is absolutely ready for market.
