First IPAF training centre in Denmark

Riwal Denmark has opened the county’s first IPAF training centres to offer operator training courses for scissor lifts, booms and truck mounted lifts

We understand that the company has succeeded in winning a major contract to supply aerial work platforms for a major new project, said to be the new Facebook data centre in Odense. We understand that the main contractor is insisting that anyone using an aerial work platform on site will be required to have a valid PAL card. If so this is likely to result in around 250 people being trained in the first year and up to a 1,000 in year two when most of the finishing work is likely to begin. The company declined to comment on this point.

The accreditation as an IPAF approved centre was confirmed in the last week or two.

Process & Project Manager Simon Fjord said: “We are looking forward to offer both our Danish and foreign customers this training service. We have experienced a high demand in recent months. It will ensure that we can educate the users of our machines, which will certainly increase the safety for our customers and also reduce the number of service calls because of incorrect use of equipment.”
