New Zealand's first Tadano TM-35100
New Zealand based rental company McLeod Cranes has taken delivery of the first Tadano TM-35100 boom truck crane in the country.
The 31 tonne TM-35100 features a four section 30 metre hydraulic boom, plus a 15 metre extension with up to 45 degrees of offset. The crane also features a lift speed of up to 140 metres per minute, and has been mounted on an 8x4 Freightliner Columbia chassis for the local market. It was delivered by New Zealand Tadano dealer Allcrane Sales and Services.
Allcrane owner Mike Morris said: "McLeod Cranes wanted a 30 tonne unit that could travel unrestricted without permits, was quick and easy to setup, versatile and could handle the terrain they travel on a regular basis. McLeod's are based in an area with a lot of hills, rural roads which are better suited to trucks than cranes. They already had experience with a 60 tonne Tadano GT 600EX truck crane and given its performance purchased a second GT 600EX."

McLeod Cranes managing director Scott McLeod added: "The TM35100 as a replacement for our old Kato. We wanted a machine that would travel the distance efficiently, survive our hilly terrain and be easy to operate. The crane industry is very competitive so it's important to look at the latest options."
"After seeing the crane specifications I had a good chat to Mike and decided this was the crane we wanted. As a team, and given our experience with Allcrane and the GT600's we knew that we wanted to be the first company in NZ with a TM 35100. It is exactly what Mike and Allcrane said it would be, is performing very well and looks fantastic. I'm now considering whether we should be looking at a second unit".
Based in Tauranga, McLeod runs a fleet of All Terrain and Rough Terrain cranes ranging from 10 to 350 tonnes, as well as Hiab loader cranes.
