New Genie XC boom models
Genie is launching the North American version of its first Xtra Capacity articulated boom today in Oklahoma, the 45ft Z-45 XC diesel Rough Terrain, first seen at Bauma last year. As with all other XC models it boasts an unrestricted platform capacity of 300kg and 454kg with restricted outreach.
The new model is based on the well proven and popular Genie Z-45RT, with the same general performance, but also includes Genie’s new easy to calibrate load monitoring that constantly checks the load in the platform and adjusts the working envelope to match.
The company is also launching XC versions of its 60 and 80ft straight booms today the S-60/S-65 and S-80/S-85.

The new Genie Z-45XC
Product manager Marie Engstrom said: “Providing operators with the ability to perform a wider range of heavier lift and access tasks on rough terrain, using a single machine - without the support of other equipment, the Genie Z-45 XC articulated boom is well-suited for aerial applications on unfinished construction sites.”
“It is designed with intuitive, proportional controls that offer the high precision positioning and ease of operation that operators value so highly. Operators will find that because of its higher capacity capabilities, they will be able to handle a wider range of heavier tasks with just one machine. The fact that operators will need to reload less often will also help them to save time and work more productively.”
The official launch gets underway in a couple of hours. We will update and add to this when we see the new models in the iron along with the other new attachments etc...
