Grove RTs for Philippines
MDC Equipment Solutions, the rental arm of Filipino construction company Makati Development Corporation, has taken delivery of four 30 tonne Grove RT530E-2 Rough Terrain cranes. They join three other recently added Grove cranes, two TMS700E truck cranes and a 220 tonne GMK5220 All Terrain.
The RT530E-2 has a 29 metre main boom and a maximum tip height of 44.5 metres. It is powered by a Tier III diesel, and includes the Crane Control System (CCS) operating system. The crane will be used in the group’s precast concrete plant in San Felix, Laguna, to handle concrete components and panels, as well as to support the company's GMK5220 assembling tower cranes.

Head of operations Jose Magajes said: “When it rains our yard becomes muddy, so I prefer to use Rough Terrain cranes for the lifting work. We have mostly deployed our RT530E-2 cranes at the staging areas of the plants, where we use them to handle rebar and formwork, as well as finished precast sections.”
“I know Grove cranes are reliable and backed by Manitowoc Crane Care, which is always good. We could have opted for cheaper options at this capacity, but we knew the RT530E-2 was the right choice for us.”
Established in 1974, MDC has 89 tower cranes, 355 lifting equipment, 377 transport equipment, 116 heavy equipment and 370 support equipment in its fleet.
