BVT to pull out of access

Polish manufacturer BVT is running down its powered access manufacturing operations as it focuses on increased demand in the other parts of its business, including the fabrication of tower sections for wind turbines.

At the moment the company has told its staff that it plans to mothball the business and has already laid off some of its staff dedicated to the access division. The company will continue to service and support the units that it has sold and will build out any inventory.

BVT – short for Beckmann Volmer Technology – the company was once a division of the German group, entered the access business almost two years ago and launched a small range of small truck mounted and trailer mounted lifts. It had some success locally, particularly with utility and urban maintenance contractors. It also established a number of international dealers.
