Elebia launches C5 clamp

Spanish lifting gear company Elebia has launched the 5,000kg C5 automatic lifting clamp.

Weighing 19kg the C5 measures 345 x 310 x 133 mm and was designed following a request from a customer looking to lift and manipulate steel plates and tubes. The initial idea was to modify the tip of the 2,500kg capacity evo2 automatic hook but engineers ended up designing the C5. Currently available in one size and capacity, it can be scaled up to higher capacities.

The new C5 lifting clamp from Elebia

Marketing manager Esteve Fornells said: “The design was a solution for lifting steel plates specifically at ports. We looked at a number of options from designing a much larger automatic hook, to modifying and/or changing the tip of our hooks. It was clear to us that there was market demand for a state of the art automatic solution. The C5 combines the safety and security of a clamp with the ease of use and productivity of a claw.”
