Goscor acquisition and restructure
South African access specialist Goscor Hi-Reach and sister company, Goscor Access Rental have merged into a new entity, Goscor Access Solutions and acquired Aerial Lift Rentals of Port Elizabeth. Andrew Kendrick has been appointed as the chief executive of the merged entity, while George Landsberg is chairman.
The move follows last months acquisition of the Goscor Group by Industrial Services Holdings which trades as InServe a large industrial services group that includes crane rental, scaffolding & scaffold steel processing, trailer manufacturing and fuel pump and distribution divisions, which is owned by private equity firm IEP.
Goscor has also finally completed the acquisition of Aerial Lift Rentals in Port Elizabeth from owners Brian Paddey and Ronnie Buis, who are set to retire from the industry. The company will be incorporated into Goscor Access Solutions as its Port Elizabeth branch with Brian Walters as branch manager under Cape Region manager Brent Viljoen. Paddey will act as a consultant to the business during an extended hand over period.

Talking of the new group structure, Kendrick said: “This new structure will enhance our opportunities and improve group synergies. We have also relocated our two main offices to new premises in Midrand - between Pretoria and Johannesburg – which are ideally located for the Gauteng province, economic hub of South Africa. The new business will be providing all access and telehandler services including rentals, sales of new and used machines, parts distribution, training, servicing and repairs across South and Southern Africa.”
