Choosing the wrong gear

Spotted in Wakefield in northern England, a man with two lovely new scissor lifts, neither of which are suitable for the job at hand.

He has the larger one, which looks like a 15ft micro scissor lift (almost certainly indoor only) extended to its full height, and has added a ladder to the platform, he then intends to climb from the elevated ladder onto the work area where he is installing a large sign.

Cordoned off but far from safe

In the words of our correspondent: “Just called to get a quick bite for lunch and spotted this idiot. The place is a new retail facility on the outskirts of Wakefield. He’s actually on his way down in the shot. Couldn’t see the name of the contractor, as it’s a working site with numerous trade vehicles dotted around. Particularly like the use of a shopping trolley to cordon off the working area!”

A Death Wish? Definitely lots of potential to go wrong here, he might actually have been safer with just a ladder that is suited to the job of getting onto the platform? It most likely that the lifts were rented for internal shop fitting and he has simply borrowed one?

Have a safe weekend
