Komatsu acquires Pine Bush
Japanese construction equipment manufacturer Komatsu, has acquired New York state based dealer and rental company PBE group, comprising Pine Bush Equipment and East PBE.
The asset purchase deal has been done through Komatsu subsidiary F & M Equipment and does not include the Kubota products or spare parts. It is subject to final approval of Komatsu, following the completion of all due diligence. The company will continue to be run by the same management team.

The company was established in 1956, when excavating contractor Edward ‘Ted’ Boniface and his wife, Dorothy ‘Dot’ purchased Pine Bush Farm Implement, a local Case dealership. The incorporated the business and converted it construction equipment. Based in Pine Bush, New York - due North of New York City, near Poughkeepsie - with branches in Holmes, New York and Newington, Connecticut and is still owned and managed by the family.
Among the Komatsu excavators and Kubota tractors, the company sells and rents JLG telehandlers and aerial lifts.
A statement from the family said: “The Boniface family felt strongly that this agreement will strengthen the legacy our parents began as we celebrate 61 years in business, and although we will not be the owners, the Boniface family remains deeply committed to the mutual well being and success of employees, customers and the business. Over the years the business landscape will change. We must adapt and be flexible and responsive to these changes. We must do what's best for our esteemed customers and our group of dedicated employees.”
Komatsu added: “This is part of a strategic reinforcement of the distributor network. And our goal to place ourselves closer to the customer to, provide superior products, superior services and superior solutions.”
