Demag City for Switzerland

Swiss crane and heavy transport company Matthey-Petit has ordered on of the new 45 tonne Demag AC 45 City cranes.

The new AC 45 has a 31.2 metre main boom and can telescope loads of up to 19.7 tonnes. A 7.1 to 13 metre offsettable extension takes the maximum on board tip height to over 45 metres. It is also fitted with Demag's IC-1 Plus system, which calculates the crane’s capacity based on the actual outrigger and counterweight setting, and also maximise the capacity based on slew angle.

Chief executive Blaise Hochstrasser said: “We already owned an AC 40 City which we bought years ago and were very pleased with it. When we found out that Demag was about to return to the City class, we were instantly interested. We have been impressed with the Demag crane's technologies, performance and reliability.”

Demag AC 45 City

Established in 2016 after a merger between Petit Levages and Matthey Transfers, Matthey-Petit employs 60 and is headquartered in Bussigny, Vaud, western Switzerland. The company's fleet consists of cranes with capacities ranging between 40 and 500 tonnes.
