Ireland's first LRT 1100-2.1
Irish rental company Crane Hire has ordered two 100 tonne Liebherr LRT 1100-2.1 Rough Terrain cranes, the first in the UK or Ireland.
The LRT 1100-2.1 has a 50 metre main boom and features a 10.5 to 19 metre bi-fold swingaway option with up to 40 degrees of offset. The order was placed at Vertikal Days this month and follows the delivery last year of Ireland's first Liebherr MK 140 self-erecting mobile tower crane -
see First Liebherr MK 140 for Ireland. The new crane also replaces a 1983 Liebherr Rough Terrain crane in its fleet.

Director Jarleth O Leary said: "We are delighted to be adding two cranes with such outstanding capabilities to our fleet. These Liebherr Rough Terrain machines will further increase the on-site versatility that we are able to offer both existing and potential customers and we are looking forward to putting their off-road abilities, manoeuvrability and hoisting capacity to work."
Established in 1967, family run Crane Hire operates from two depots in Cork and Dublin. Its fleet consists of All Terrain, Rough Terrain, city type and tower cranes, ranging from 35 to 750 tonne capacity.
