Liebherr breaks ground for new US HQ

Liebherr has held the ground breaking ceremony for construction of its new $45 million expansion of its Newport News, Virginia facility.

The company that has been manufacturing in Newport News, for more than 48 years and is now building an additional facility on a site adjacent to its current location. See Liebherr to expand US facility

The new buildings will house the new headquarters for Liebherr USA.
The three new buildings will cover 23,500 square metres and include a state of the art four storey administrative building, a custom designed warehouse and parts distribution centre and a modern production and workshop facility intended to support the company’s cranes, construction and concrete divisions. The facility is expected to be completed by 2020.

Liebherr USA managing director Torben Reher said: “The US is a strategic market for Liebherr and with this investment we send a clear message of commitment to our customers, employees and the local community here in Newport News,”
