First hybrid Palfinger platform
Palfinger will unveil its first hybrid truck mounted platform, the P 370 KSE at the IAA show in Hannover, Germany this September.
The P 370 KSE, is based on the standard 37 metre Palfinger P 370 KS -
see New Palfinger KS platform – but, while the chassis retains its diesel power, the platform hydraulics are battery powered, with a full day's battery life in typical usage. The working time can be further extended by plugging into the mains where and when possible to keep the battery pack topped up. Palfinger also says the intelligent charging system with integrated fast charging function shortens the charging time by 25 percent, and that after one hour of charging from low battery cut out, the machine can be operated for up to one and a half hours.
Palfinger says that the new machine offers the performance of a diesel powered platform, with lower operating costs, less noise and lower carbon emissions, thus making it ideal for night time and indoor work as well as for use on urban areas. More details following the launch.

Dear Eric,
the machine drives to the work site using the(diesel) truck motor. The platform can be powered alternatively by the truck motor or through electric battery and motor. Hope it is more clear now.

Not sure how this is a hybrid? Chassis is diesel, boom electric.. Can't drive without diesel motor, can't use the boom without battery charge from mains power..or did I miss something ?
