Lifts and slides at the Tate
The Tate Modern gallery in London is preparing to open an unusual new exhibit, with the help of a Nifty 170 trailer lift.
Located in the Turbine Hall the exhibit by Carsten Holler, the Belgian-born German conceptual artist, includes five stainless steel and acrylic glass slides, forming an artistic interactive playground for the general public.

In order to erect the exhibits, the gallery called on Facelift, the Hickstead based access company for appropriate equipment to provide safe access.
Facelift supplied a Nifty 170 telescopic articulated trailer lift. The longest slide runs over 58 metres. The installations fill the huge hall, a study commissioned by Holler, suggests that slides can reduce problems of depression, obesity, respiratory conditions and mental health, whilst also reducing the risks of heart attack.
