The original Singapore based joint venture was established in 2011, with Japan’s Kanamoto holding a 70 percent stake to JP Nelson’s 30 percent. That venture was aimed at foundation and other specialist equipment, especially given that JP Nelson already operates a powered access rental business in Singapore JP Access Equipment, and also owns Antar Crane Services.

In Malaysia however the venture has signed a dealer agreement and strategic alliance with Chinese aerial lift manufacturer Sinoboom. The Chinese manufacturer is expected to supply the bulk of the machines for the new rental fleet, while KNE will act as its full service distributor for Malaysia.
