Comet's Belgian tunnel show

Italian truck mounted lift manufacturer Comet has held a road show in Belgium and Switzerland, demonstrating its 11 metre Solar 11 truck mounted platform to tunnel maintenance contractors and others.

The Solar 11 is well suited to tunnel type work

Working with its Belgian dealer Allift-Michielsens, Comet demonstrated the Solar 11 to a range of companies that carry out similar types of work in tunnels, airports and the port of Antwerp and those with applications that require a big deck, rapid travel speeds, and the ability to drive and steer it from the platform without outriggers. The tour included a session in the Leopold tunnel in Brussels, during a night closure, where the team was able to demonstrate the platform to a number of contractors who operate in the sector.

The Solar 11 in the Leopold tunnel in Brussels, Belgium

Mounted on a 3.5 tonne chassis, the Solar 11 has a 3.5 metre long platform, provides an outreach of four metres with a 400kg platform capacity. The company says it also plans to conduct similar tours in the Netherlands with Dutch partner Hoogwerker and the UK with Comet UK.
