The tender documents specified that as well as lifting capacity and radius, the crucial feature of the spider crane was to be able to cope with the extreme weather conditions that they are likely to be exposed to when used for the repair and maintenance of military equipment, as well as being able to remain stable during transportation on flat racks with rough landings and heavy seas.

Unic Cranes Europe chief executive Graeme Riley added: “It is a real accomplishment for us at Unic cranes to have our machines successfully make the grade with the Danish Ministry of Defence. We have been working with Lissner and DALO on this opportunity for over three years.”
