GMG opens in Oz

US based aerial lift sales company GMG has established a new direct sales operation in Australia.

The new venture, GMG Platforms Australia, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the American business and will sell and support GMG’s full slab electric scissor lift range, along with its new Rough Terrain scissors and mast booms to rental companies throughout the country. The new operation, which will also handle spare parts, service, warranty support and training.

The company has appointed Martin Eade as sales manager, following 24 years with ASPAC the Hinowa spider lift dealer and until recently the dealer for Almac self-levelling tracked scissor lifts.

GMG chief executive Jim Tolle said: “We participated in the Australian Hire show earlier this year in order to get a feel for the acceptance of our machines in the Australian market and were very pleased with the outcome, especially the excitement for our OWS Overhead Warning System, that is incorporated into our I-Power control system. We have been successful throughout the world by producing EWPs that are superior in innovation, quality and performance, but are also economical to purchase.
