Crowland wind speed sensor

UK sales and rental company Crowland Cranes has developed a new wireless wind speed measurement system.

The new system has been designed for installation on both mobile and tower cranes. Pre-production units have been field tested with several companies over the past year. Two types of in cab LCD display are available, a standalone battery powered screen or a hardwired display operating on a 12 or 24 volt power supply.

The system is supplied as standard with magnetic brackets for the sensor and display screen mounting brackets, providing a quick solution for wind speed monitoring. The hardwired version also offers a Wi-Fi connection, enabling remote off site viewing via Crowland’s cloud based software. Both systems have operating ranges of up to 1,300 metres.
