New CEO for Wolffkran
Wolffkran has appointed Duncan Salt as chief executive, replacing Peter Schiefer who will remain on the board of directors and operate as the board’s delegate.
Salt has been head of sales at Wolffkran since the start of 2018. Prior to that he was head of international sales. He began his crane related career when he joined UK contractor Laing O’Rourke as a project manager in 2003. In 2005 he was appointed as general manager lifting solutions at the company’s Select Plant Hire division, one of the UK’s leading tower crane rental companies. Then in 2012 he left the company to join tower crane HTC - then owned by P.C. Harrington Holdings, and the UK dealer for Wolffkran - as a director and general manager. In 2015
Wolffkran acquired HTC after its owners ran into financial difficulties. In 2015 Salt moved to a new role at Wolff when he was appointed as head of international sales for the group.

Salt said: “My goal is to drive the symbiosis between lifting services and crane technology. We are uniquely placed at Wolffkran and through a greater emphasis on our common goals we will position Wolffkran at the forefront of our industry setting benchmarks in service, quality and innovation. I am thankful for the trust and confidence placed in me by Peter and my colleagues and I look forward to taking on the opportunities and challenges that come with the position.”
Schiefer added: “We have grown immensely and have reached a point where it is no longer feasible nor in the interest of the company for one person to head the executive management, while at the same time fulfilling the duties of the delegate of the board. In order to position ourselves best for the future and successfully continue growing our business, we need to enhance our organisational setup now. I am convinced that a split of the functions is a necessary step on Wolffkran’s road to success and I am confident that we have found the perfect candidate in Duncan Salt to fill the position as chief executive. Duncan brings an extensive network and a wealth of experience to his new position and shares the Wolffkran DNA with us.”
