Used Liebherr for Egypt

Egyptian heavy haulage and rental company The Specialized Contracting Company Cranes has taken delivery of a used 400 tonne LR 1400/2 crawler crane.

The LR 1400/2 provides a maximum radius of 120 metres, and can handle its maximum capacity at 4.5 metres. It is the second LR 1400/2 in the company’s fleet and has been on several projects, including the construction of Suez Canal tunnels in Port Said and the expansion of the West Cairo power plant.

Liebherr LR 1400/2

Owner Sayed El Dibiky said: “We wanted to buy the LR 1400/2 from Liebherr because we are sure that we will receive the best quality used crane if we buy direct from the manufacturer. The 400 tonner is ideal for the requirements of current heavy duty projects in Egypt. It will mainly be used in power plant construction, wind farms and bridges for the new motorway network. A large proportion of our crane fleet comes from Liebherr. We have had very good experience with this manufacturer. Another reason that we bought another Liebherr crane is the good aftersales service provided by the Liebherr representatives in Egypt’s, DAM Group Trading Company S.A.E.”

Based in Cairo, The Specialized Contracting Company Cranes employs around 200 and runs a fleet of 45 cranes, topped off by a 650 tonne Liebherr LR 1650 crawler crane.
