First Potain MCT 325s delivered

Australian tower crane company Active Crane Hire has purchased the first two Potain MCT 325 topless canes following its launch in August – see: New Potain flat top.

The MCT 325 comes in two basic versions with 12 and 16 tonne maximum lift capacities and jib lengths increasing in five metre increments from 40 to 75 metres. Capacity at the 75 metre jib tip is 2.5 tonnes on the 12 tonne model and 2.3 tonnes on the 16 tonne model. The new cranes will be mainly used for residential and commercial projects.

Hermann Buchberger, Active Crane Hire managing director, said: “We chose the MCT 325 for its versatility and to support the increasing preference for precast concrete in construction. We are looking forward to the MCT 325 bringing speed and simplicity to projects with its design that allows multiple units to overlap on site.”
