Kiloutou acquires Wiesecker Werkzeugvermietung

French international rental group Kiloutou has acquired German access rental company Wiesecker Werkzeugvermietung.

Wiesecker is based in Gießen, near Frankfurt in the heart of the state of Hesse, and is a member of the Partner lift association of independent rental companies. Its rental fleet includes 650 aerial work platforms, topped by a 70 metre truck mounted lift. In total it operates a fleet of 2,500 which includes telehandlers, pick & carry cranes and spider cranes, as well as general construction equipment. It employs 85 and also operates an IPAF training centre.

Kiloutou Germany has grown over the past three years, with the acquisition of five regional rental companies, giving it a total of 13 branches in the country. It sees the Wiesecker acquisition as an opportunity to build a strong base in the greater Frankfurt area. As such the business will be integrated into Kiloutou Germany.

Wiesecker Werkzeugvermietung was founded in 1982 when owner Udo Heinrich went to the United States to purchase several Harley Davidson motorcycles. In order to fill the shipping container he also added rental tools. He began the Wiesecker rental business proper in 1989.

Kiloutou chief executive Olivier Colleau said: "This acquisition is fully in line with the development strategy pursued by Kiloutou Germany, which aims to expand our market presence in promising new areas. It also demonstrates our ability to qualitatively Integrate high quality regional players with a strong local presence in our development project. I would like to warmly welcome the 85 employees of Wiesecker to the Kiloutou family."

Udo Heinrich, founder and managing director of Wiesecker Werkzeugvermietung, added: "I am delighted that the Kiloutou group has acquired our equipment rental business. This will enable our team of employees to contribute to the rapid growth of the group by sharing our profound knowledge of the growth market in Hesse and the surrounding area I personally believe in Kiloutou's development project on the German market and I am happy that our employees and customers will benefit from new investments and a larger range of rental equipment in the future."

The acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to be completed by the end of April. The Leipzig based Wiesecker group is not part of this transaction.
