First LR1750 SX for Turkey

Turkish heavy lift and transport company Sarilar has taken delivery of the first 750 tonne LR 1750/2 crawler crane in Turkey equipped with the SX2 boom booster system.

Available for Liebherr's LR1750/2 crawler and LG 1750 truck cranes, the SX boom system uses 3.5 metre wide lattice boom sections which can be extended and strengthened by the addition of the SX2 kit which comprises two 14 metre long by six metre wide lattice sections fitted directly to the boom base or butt section. The LR1750/2 SX has a maximum boom length of 168 metres and a seven metre extension to the derrick boom - taking it to 38.5 metres. The company claims the SX system improves the crane’s capacities by up to 30 percent allowing it to take up to 120 tonnes to a height of 165 metres.

The crane also includes the VarioTray ballast system, with removable ballast frame for the derrick boom that is unbolted from the suspended ballast frame and can be used separately with up to 125 tonnes of counterweight. The new crane joins units of the original LR1750 in the Sarilar fleet.

Sarilar owner, Hanifi Gürbuz, said: “The majority of our fleet is supplied by Liebherr. The reason for that is our trust in the Liebherr brand and the quality of the products. Liebherr has never disappointed us. That is why we prefer Liebherr.”

The company has also taken delivery of a 100 tonne Liebherr LRT 1100-2.1 Rough Terrain crane, which features a five section 50 metre main boom, a 10.5 metre swingaway extension, and standard Variobase outrigger set up system.
