UK first for John Sutch

UK crane rental company John Sutch Cranes has taken delivery of the first 200 tonne Grove GMK5200-1 All Terrain crane in the UK.

The five axle crane features a 64 metre main boom and an 18 metre to 34 metre bi-fold swingaway extension. Features include five outrigger widths, interchangeable counterweights with other Grove cranes in the company’s fleet, Megatrak suspension and all wheel steer. The crane went straight out on its first job lifting tanks and pipework at a chemical plant in Liverpool.

Company owner, John Sutch, said: “We felt confident placing an order for the GMK5200-1 because we already have a GMK5250L, which has been very successful for us. The GMK5200-1 looks very similar and is just as driver friendly and compact but is a bit smaller. It runs with an interchangeable ballast and can go up and down the range, which means it’s more versatile for our fleet. We can use it on most 100, 130 and 200 tonne jobs. For us it’s about the product and the relationship,”
