New 60 tonner for Schlamann

German crane, access and telehandler rental company Schlamann-Autokrane has taken delivery of a new 60 tonne Liebherr LTM 1060-3.1

The three axle crane replaces a 45 tonne LTM 1045-3.1 and is part of a fleet upgrade in the 50 to 90 tonne range. It features a 48 metre main boom topped by a 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension for a maximum tip height of 67 metres and a maximum radius of 48 metres. The new crane is also equipped with a Stage V diesel engine and Liebherr’s VarioBase outrigger set up system. It can carry up to 5.5 tonnes of counterweight on the road, allowing it to tackle a wide range of lifts without requiring additional transport vehicles.

Managing director Torsten Schlamann, who travelled to the Liebherr plant in Ehingen with colleague Jessica Schomburg for the handover of the new crane, said: “The LTM 1060-3.1 is exactly what our crane fleet was missing. It is a compact, powerful three axle crane with a very long telescopic boom. It has good off road features so will be a perfect supplement to our LTF 1060-4.1 telescopic truck mounted cranes, particularly for construction projects.”

“Liebherr is a reliable partner and the cranes hold their value extremely well. Their service is excellent. That is why we only have Liebherr cranes in our fleet. We have also ordered the new LTM 1110-5.1, which will be delivered next spring.”

Schlamann is based in Marklohe, north west of Hanover, and runs a fleet of 21 Liebherr mobile cranes topped by the 250 tonne LTM 1250-5.1. It also has almost 200 aerial work platforms, a few Unic spider cranes and a number of fixed and 360 degree telehandlers. It operates out of three locations in the region with 70 employees and is a member of System Lift.
