Changes for AMC

UK based spider and mini crawler crane rental company A Mini Crane Hire has changed its trading name to AMC following the recent acquisition by entrepreneur Mark Davenport - see: New owner for A Mini Crane Hire

Founded in 2009, the rebrand is part of a new five year plan to develop the company and build a stronger management team. It currently operates a fleet of more than 60 spider cranes and 80 glazing robots and floor cranes from two locations, one in Knowsley, Liverpool and Heathrow, Greater London.

In the past month or two there has been substantial investment in all-electric machines, including six units of Hoeflon’s six tonne C6e and six 2.82 tonne Maeda 285CB-3 spider crane, which were launched earlier this year – see: First all electric Maeda. The company has also added a Klaas truck crane along with additional vacuum and glazing units, while its existing fleet has undergone a major refurbishment.

Davenport said: "As for many, March to May was a real challenge but we knuckled down and by August sales had recovered well. Projects that were put on hold due to the first lockdown have now been completed, and I am pleased to say we are now back on track. AMC has proven to be an agile and resilient business in difficult times and the rebrand sets out to reflect our confidence.”

Refurbishment of the entire existing fleet

"By December/January we will have welcomed eleven fully electric powered cranes and three fully electric VW Golfs for engineers and four BMW 330e hybrids for the sales team. Our existing fleet will have been fully refurbished. These are very exciting times for AMC and our workforce. The new brand identity is strong, vibrant, fresh and fun - everything we are about, and we hope it resonates with our customers, existing and new, as much as it does with our fantastic workforce. Look out for our cranes being named individually, for example!”
