100t Kobelco for FKL
UK rental company FKL Plant has taken delivery of a 100 tonne Kobelco CKE900G-3 crawler crane.
The Stage V complaint CKE900G-3 features a 51.8 metre main boom and can handle its maximum capacity at a radius of 3.6 metres and 2.8 tonne at its maximum radius of 46.1 metres. The new crane was delivered to FKL's depot in Oldham, before being shipped to Ireland to work on the Dublin 2 development project. Working alongside the company’s hydraulic drilling rigs, the crane is being used to install numerous two tonne reinforcement cages for the piles required for a two storey basement.
FKL Plant business development manager, Mark McKeown, said: “The site is a relatively compact one and the 42.7 metre boom on the compact CKE900G-3 meant it could easily be placed and have everything within easy reach. While we have only just started work, we are delighted with the crane’s performance and look forward to continuing to use it in the years to come.”

General manager Pat McKay added: “Kobelco cranes have a great build quality and extremely low running costs, while our new CKE900G-3 is also Stage V/Tier 5 compliant, which means we can work on urban sites, such as Dublin 2, while maintaining the highest environmental standards.”
