Borgman acquires AWP

US private equity company Borgman Capital has acquired Wisconsin based rental company Aerial Work Platforms Inc (AWP).

Founded in 1979, AWP specialises in the sales, rental and service of aerial lifts from three locations in Sussex/Milwaukee, Janesville and Neenah, Winsconsin. The company was the first authorised dealer for Genie in Wisconsin and also represents Skyjack, Custom/Hy-brid and Niftylift. It runs a fleet of more than 1,600 new and used boom, scissor and personnel lifts, as well as material lifts, telehandlers and forklifts.

AWP owner Pat Barney said: “I am very grateful to have completed the sale of AWP with Borgman Capital and am very excited for the future of the company with our current staff, new additions, and guidance from Borgman Capital. I know the company will continue to grow and be a great place to work. To our customers current and future, we will remain ‘committed to superior customer service and value!”
