50 Niftylift Hybrids for Speedy

UK rental company Speedy Powered Access has started taking delivery of 50 new Niftylift hybrid boom lifts. This is part of a £2 million investment to increase the proportion of zero or low emission machines in its fleet to cope with increased demand from customers looking to reduce pollution and meet their carbon targets.

The investment follows the merger late last year of Prolift, Platform Sales & Hire and Lifterz companies - all of which have been acquired since 2017 - into Speedy Powered Access. The combined business employs 180 across 11 specialist service centres in the UK and runs a fleet of 8,600 aerial lifts, including more than 3,000 low level push around lifts and 670 articulated boom lifts.

A HR21 Hybrid also delivered to Leeds

The HR21 Hybrid 4x4 has a 20.8 metre working height with up to 13 metres of outreach at an up & over height of seven metres with a platform capacity of 250kg. Total weight is 6,680kg, while the overall width is 2.27 metres.

Both machines have true hybrid power packs which can operate independently as an all electric or diesel powered unit, with the electric motor automatically cutting in to support the diesel when maximum traction is requires. The diesel can also be set to cut in as a generator to top up the batteries should they run low.

Speedy Powered Access managing director Andy Briggs, said: “Ensuring customers and businesses can access the products and equipment they need to drive down on-site carbon emissions is vital if the industry is to reach its net zero ambitions. This represents a strategic investment that not only futureproofs our fleet but bolsters our position as a one stop shop for customers who are looking for more sustainable solutions while completing work at height. This will be essential in the years ahead, particularly for projects in cities like London that need to meet non-road mobile machinery requirements in ultra low emission zones.”
