Liebherr trio for K&W

German crane rental and recovery company K&W Autokrane ordered three Liebherr LTM All Terrain cranes, including a new flagship, a 180 tonne LTM 1160-5.2.

Scheduled for delivery in August, the five axle LTM 1160-5.2 features a 62 main boom plus a 10 to 19.8 metre bi-fold swingaway jib. Three seven metre extensions can be added to offer a maximum tip height of 104 metres and a radius of 62 metres.
The 180t LTM 1160-5.2 is set to be the largest crane in K&W’s fleet

The company has also ordered a five axle 110 tonne LTM 1110-5.1 and a three 55 tonne LTM 1055-3.2. Joining a 30 tonne LTM 1030-2.1 and 50 tonne LTC 1050-3.1, the company stated Liebherr’s VarioBase outrigger system as a major factor behind the order.
All three cranes will be supplied in the company’s black and yellow livery

Joint managing director Christoph Klein, said: “The LTC does everything for us. From quick day jobs to long term sites to crane work inside buildings, the compact crane has been used universally by us for the last four years. Quite simply, VarioBase is the Ferrari of crane support systems.”

Based in Hildesheim, outside of Hanover, the company offers a fleet of eight cranes alongside a number of towing and recovery trucks and trailers.
