UK rental company Select Plant Hire has taken delivery of 200 Skyjack slab electric scissor lifts.
The order is made up of 19ft S3219E, 20ft S3220E and the latest generation 32ft S4732E electric self-propelled scissor lifts. It also include a number of 16ft SJ16 mast type lifts. All the units are equipped with Skyjack’s Elevate telematics system that provides details on machine utilisation and maintenance as well as preventing unauthorised use.
Select says that the order follows increased demand from existing infrastructure projects such as HS2, Hinkley Point C, Tideway and East West Rail, as well as a number of new projects set to start later this year.
Tom Barrow, Select product leader - powered access, said: “By making this significant investment in these new machines, we are able to provide customers with the certainty that the equipment is fully capable of servicing their requirements. In addition to this, we are acutely aware that our clients require their equipment to be as environmentally friendly as possible, which is why all of the machines comply with all the latest environmental standards.”
Part of the Laing O'Rourke construction group, Select has a fleet of more than 440 aerial work platforms, 185 tower cranes and 80 crawler cranes. More details can be found in the C&A annual Top 30 survey of leading UK & Irish rental companies shown below.
