New Grove dealer for Sweden & Norway

Manitowoc has appointed ANK Cranes as the Grove crane distributor for Norway and Sweden, replacing UN Mobilkraner, which will retain responsibility for Grove cranes in Denmark, the Faroe Islands and Greenland.

The move follows UN Mobilkraner’s decision to focus on the Danish market. As part of the deal ANK has taken over the Mobilkraner sales and service facility in Drammen, Norway, along with the companies locally based service engineers.

ANK Cranes’ Norwegian operation is based in Rælingen, near Lillestrøm to the east of Oslo, while its Swedish base is in Billdal, on the west coast south of Gothenburg. The company already distributes HSC crawler cranes and Unic spider cranes.

Company leaders Anders Kiel and Thor Nordahl in Norway and Martin Andersson in Sweden established ANK in 2019 in order to distribute HSC lattice crawler cranes. Last year they added Unic spider cranes their portfolio - see: New Nordic dealer for Unic.

They and their staff have many years of mobile crane experience between them. Anders Kiel started out as a technician with Arnab Kran & Lift in 2010, moving to Knutsen Maskin in 2014 as sales administrator and representative.

Thor Nordahl has 33 years’ industry experience with Knutsen Maskin, joining as a technician and moving up through the company to become managing director and a shareholder. Martin Andersson spent 15 years with Arnab Kran & Lift working in positions ranging from sales to managing director. The ANK team is currently receiving training at the Grove plant in Wilhelmshaven.

Holger Haber, Grove area sales manager for Scandinavia said: “As our reliable Grove partner since 1994, we would like to thank the UN Mobilkraner team for all their hard work and dedication in Norway and Sweden – and assure customers that they will continue to support them in Denmark, the Faroe Islands and Greenland as loyally as they always have.”

“At the same time, we are looking forward to developing our new relationship with ANK Cranes in Norway and Sweden – and maintaining the strong market reputation for quality and dependability that UN Mobilkraner has already helped to establish. We are very fortunate to provide strong service support from day one with our partnership as we were able to find an agreement with ANK Cranes to seamlessly take over the sales and service facility in Drammen, Norway, as well as the highly educated and motivated service engineers from UN Mobilkraner.”
