First Tadano GR-900EX-4 for the Philippines

Filipino company Hammer Head Builders and Development has taken delivery of the first 90 tonne Tadano GR-900EX-4 Rough Terrain crane in the country.
The crane was purchased through Tadano’s exclusive Philippines distributor Monark Equipment. Hammer Head Builders chose the crane for its suitability to its key applications, starting off with a major project to demolish and then work at the expansion of Taiheiyo Cement.

The GR-900EX-4 features a five section 47 metre boom, plus a 10.1 to 17.7 metre bi-fold swingaway extension with up to 45 degrees of offset providing a maximum tip height of 67.5 metres. The maximum radius of 42 metres with the main boom or 52 metres with the extension, make it ideal for the job.

Known for its remarkable reliability and uptime, the crane features an asymmetrical outrigger extension width control, an integrated counterweight, sequential and non-sequential telescoping modes and the popular HELLO-NET system. Its maximum lifting height of 47.1m (64.4m with the bi-fold jib) and maximum load radius of 42 metres (52m with the bi-fold jib) made it ideal for Hammer Head’s multi-faceted project with Taiheiyo as well as future customer projects.

Managing director Manny Javines said: “The Tadano brand has good quality and durability. In addition Monark Equipment is very cooperative, prompt in their sales, and easy to call on for services and queries. From another point of view the GR-900EX-4 will allow us to promote our expanded project capacity while reducing bid costs.”
