Another Böcker for Thanet

UK crane hire and transport company Thanet Crane Hire has taken delivery of a new six tonne Böcker AK 46/6000 aluminium truck crane.

This latest unit is the third Böcker in the company’s fleet, as it joins two four tonne AK 44/4000s. It is rated at eight metres and features a 33 metre four section main boom, topped by an 11 metre, three section, telescopic offsettable jib and a two metre extension for a maximum tip height of 46 metres. It can handle one tonne at 26 metres and 250kg at 39 metres.

Features include variable outrigger spread with automatic levelling and wireless remote controls with a colour information display. It has been mounted on a 26 tonne MAN chassis with rear axle steering.
Operations director Jack Stickings said: “Bockers are very popular with our customers due to their versatility and speedy set up. And the 46/6000 brings added advantages of great working height and heavier lift capability, complementing our existing fleet. It looks fantastic in our new livery and is part of our ongoing expansion programme which continues throughout 2022.”

Thanet is based in Chegworth, Kent, to the south of Maidstone, and runs a fleet of All Terrain cranes topped by a 100 tonne four axle Grove GMK 4100L, as well as some specialised loader crane and the three Bockers.
