Tree worker injured

A tree care worker was seriously injured last week on Vancouver Island in Canada, when the work platform he was working from overturned.
The platform was set up on the road verge up against the boundary of the property where the work was taking place, when the ground - tarmac - gave way beneath the outriggers, which where set in the inboard position, allowing the machine to tip.
The man is reported to have suffered from a broken jaw, back injuries and concussion. It seems the ground had little capacity and gave way just as the he was elevating the platform.
