US Service acquires Walker Crane

US Service Group of New York has acquired Walker Crane & Rigging of Plainville, Connecticut, on the south west side of Hartford.

US Service Group was established last year by Steve Laganas, who also owns Able Rigging and Able Equipment Rental, as a vehicle to build a national rigging and machinery moving business.
No details of the transaction have been disclosed. Walker was established in 1883 and is leading rigging and transportation operator in Connecticut providing rigging and logistics solutions to a diverse client base throughout the United States from its three acre/12,000 square metre facility. It operates a small crane fleet up to 150 tonnes, with a larger range of rigging related equipment.

Walker is the third member of the US Services Group, joining Able Rigging Contractors/Able Equipment Rental and Transcope Services, all three of which run rigging and machinery moving services to a diverse customer base.

Chief executive Steve Laganas said: "Acquiring Walker strengthens our presence in the New England region and expands our network of rigging and logistics services into this attractive market. We are very pleased that Walker is now part of USSG. With Walker’s history and stellar reputation, our plan is to see USSG continue to grow and prosper as we add equipment, services and additional high-quality employees to the team."
