Crane operator death

We have received reports that a crane operator died on Friday at a construction site on the south side of Melbourne, Australia.

We understand that he was actually operating the crane at the time in Prahran and was declared dead at the scene. As we know no one else was involved in the incident, however, WorkSafe Victoria will investigate the details of the incident. The local police said: “The exact circumstances of the man's death have yet to be determined, but we are not treating the death as suspicious.”

In summary it sounds as though we might be talking about a fall from the tower or a medical issue, rather than an ‘crane accident’. Most local news headlines state “Crane operator killed”. We will update when we learn more.
