Chancers?

A reader sent us a video showing the recovery of a stranded boat by a barge-mounted Rough Terrain crane, it makes for slightly stressful viewing.

The boat, Happy Ours was washed onto dry land during the recent Hurricane Ian. The owner organised the Tow boatsU.S. to recover the crane, it in turn brought in a barge and what looks like a 60 tonne Grove RT from a barge and crane rental company to help with the recovery.
(As well as the angle of the barge, spot the little chain around the outrigger beam - clearly not for structural or stability purposes.
As the crane took the weight of the boat the barge tilted further and further until it the rear load side appears to have touched the floor of the shallow canal, possibly preventing a disaster.
One end of the barge lifted out of the water

Enough said: Take a look at the video yourself - you may wish to fast forward in place to reduce the stress. Definitely one for our Death Wish series. But you decide.

and as it's been removed..... for no apparent reason, in answer to the insults below, my original comment was in humour, which i questioned other peoples sense of humour, so selective deletion makes my original comment stand undefended,

I get that, yet you're selective about what is removed, as below indicates, with comments still being left on. I understand you removing insults, but you've allowed it on other streams, and you've removed responses to incorrect accusations. so anyone not seeing the full stream and only seen the stream where I'm accused of being homophobic will assume guilt, so thank you

Please keep comments related to the subject and not personal or about other people commenting, There are web sites that are better suited to ranting and personal insults that are unrelated to the subject.

I don't think the underwater outriggers reached the bottom of the canal

Jacko999, I'm sorry mate but do you have eyes? You can't look at the tilt on that barge and think that's even remotely safe. Terex advise a max inclination of 2-degree when working on barges and with a ~40% capacity derate - this looks way above 2-degrees.
