Savona hybrid crane
Italian port handling company Campostano Anchor has ordered a 125 tonne ‘Generation 6’ Konecranes/ Gottwald ESP.6 mobile harbour crane for its terminal in Savona, northern Italy.
The crane can handle its maximum capacity at a radius of up to 49 metres at a height of 18 metres. The crane features a Konecranes hybrid drive, which comprises a Stage V diesel paired with an ultra-capacitor that can be recharged by energy recovered from lowering and braking motions. This gives the power needed for peak performance, while saving fuel when moving lighter loads. Delivery is scheduled for June.
