M-L acquires Chellino
The Chellino Crane deal takes the M-L Crane group locations to 14, with 427 employees, 265 cranes ranging from 8.5 60 600 tons, 475 trailers, 310 road tractors and 75 forklifts.

The Chellino family and M-L Holdings Company Crane Group will continue to provide the same great service and support customers have grown to value over the years.”
Chellino Crane was founded in 1947 by Sam Chellino, who had been working as a mechanic for a contractor after returning from World War II. When the contractor ran into cash problems he give Sam a crane as payment for his work and thus Chellino Crane company was born. He rented other equipment, but ultimately focused on cranes, developing relationships with the refineries in the Joliet, IL area.
In 1968, Sam’s son Frank joined the company as vice president, followed in 1973 by his other son Greg who started as an Operator. More recently Greg’s sons Wes and Blake joined the company as Operations Manager and Dispatcher.
