11 new cranes for Grúas Aguilar

Spanish crane and powered access rental company Grúas Aguilar has completed the delivery of 11 new All Terrain cranes from Liebherr, with capacities from 60 to 700 tonnes as part of a fleet renewal and technical update programme.

The cranes include the 700 tonne LTM 1650-8.1 which becomes the company’s flagship mobile crane replacing a 500 tonner. Other models include 60 tonne three axle LTM 1060-3.1, 70 tonne four axle LTM 1070-4.2, and 90 tonne LTM 1090-4.2, 150 tonne five axle LTM 1150-5.3 and 230 tonne LTM 1230-5.1. The cranes will be based at the company’s locations in Madrid and Palma de Mallorca for work on a range of projects across the Iberian Peninsula, France and Morocco.

LTM 1650-8.1 comes with a basic four section 54 metre boom which converts to a six section 80 metre boom when required. A 91 metre luffing jib provides a maximum tip height of 158 metres with a capacity of up to 12.3 tonnes at a radius of 52 metres.

Company owner Luis Aguilar said "We chose the eight axle mobile LTM 1650-8.1 to replace a 500 tonne unit. As a result, this new model perfectly complements our fleet in the heavy-duty sector. With its high performance and 80 metre boom it is a very versatile model designed for a wide range of applications. This flexibility also means high profitability for us."
